About Gecko Kids Fitness
Gecko opened Australia's first kids only fitness centre in Melbourne, December 2006. Running tracks, kids specific equipment, colour, music and expert coaches all combined to create a kids exercise paradise.
With over 400 members aged between 5 and 14 less than 3 months after opening – a fitness revolution was born! Finally a place kids could call their own!
The secret to Gecko's success is passion. From expert programs and equipment design to branding, every Gecko team member shares the same passion and vision.
All facets of the company have been carefully constructed with one end goal in mind: A Child's Gecko Experience. 2006-2008 was dedicated to building and refining our products, services and systems based around such an experience.
Since 2009 Gecko has been expanding throughout Australia and currently has over 30 locations in 5 states. In 2012 Gecko will open 40 new locations throughout Australia and New Zealand but is determined not to stop there.
Gecko is a small company that thinks BIG. Already the undisputed Australian leader in kids fitness - we want to Go Gecko Global.
Our Philosophy
The Gecko philosophy is that kids are NOT little adults and no child is the same. Gecko programs focus on a group of individuals, not an individual group.
At Gecko we pride ourselves on understanding what makes kids tick to motivate, inspire, educate and facilitate the optimum kids fitness experience every time.
Kids need their own programs and equipment and must be supervised at all times. They want different music, colour, variety, excitement and role models.
They don't need treadmills, mirrors or weights.
Gecko combines circuits, games, challenges, obstacles and atmosphere to MAKE FITNESS FUN!
