Ahhh, the headache of the fussy eater child. Don't eat that, don't like that, "allergic to that."
I'm a little old school on this topic so please forgive me for being a blunt. Parents come to me distressed about what their kids eat and they have often completely lost sight of how they got there. How does an eight year old have so much control over what they eat? Do they hop in their car, drive to the supermarket and purchase the family groceries - of course not!
Parents must take a stronger stance and the earlier you establish good nutritional habits - the better! Don't cave in.
If possible don't take kids shopping with you as it changes what goes in that trolley.
If you don't buy it they can't eat it.
Be a good eating role model
My Dad, bless his cotton socks literally used to make us eat the vegetables we left on our plate for breakfast the following morning! Excuse the pun but that's definitely food for thought.
